About us

We built the guide we were looking for

Portugal School Guide is made by a family, for families.

Who we are

We're an international family with three children, and we live in Cascais.

Like many families here, we came from somewhere else. We had to work out how schools in Portugal work, which ones might suit our children, and what all of it would cost.

Why we built this

When we started looking at schools, the information was hard to find. It was spread across dozens of websites, much of it only in Portuguese, and fees were often missing or buried in a PDF.

We spent many evenings putting it all together for ourselves: schools, fees, dates, and what life looks like for children in each area. It was a big decision, about our children's education and our family's future here.

So we made the guide we wished we'd had. We built it for our own family first, and now we share it with yours.

How we check information

  • We take fees, curricula and dates from each school's own website or documents, and link to the source.
  • Our pages say which school year a figure is for and when we last checked it.
  • When something is our own estimate, we say so.
  • Schools change their fees and dates every year, so always confirm the final details with the school before you apply.

Independent and neutral

We're an independent family project, not linked to any school. Our facts come from each school's own official sources, and no school can pay to change them. If we ever show featured or sponsored listings, we'll label them clearly.

What this guide is not

We're not a school, and we're not an admissions or relocation agency. We can't hold places or apply for you. For visits, applications and fees, please contact the school directly.

We don't give legal, visa or tax advice. For those questions, please speak to a qualified professional.

Corrections and contact

If something looks wrong or out of date, please tell us. A link to the school's own page helps us fix it quickly.

Schools can ask us to correct their details or remove a photo at any time.

You can write to us at hello@portugalschoolguide.com. We read every message. There's more on our contact page.

Over to you

If you're choosing a school or planning a move, we know how much is on your mind. We hope this guide saves you some of the evenings it cost us.
