How we made this list. No provider paid to be listed, and we don’t rate or rank them. Every fact comes from the provider’s own website, checked on 24 October 2026. We haven’t used these services ourselves, so please visit, ask questions and check prices before you book.
Ericeira and Mafra. Local tutoring there covers the Portuguese school system. For international-curriculum tutoring (IB, IGCSE, A Level), families in the Ericeira area usually need online lessons or a provider in Lisbon or Cascais.

A tutoring company for maths and sciences. It covers the IB (MYP and Diploma), GCSE and A Level, the US curriculum including AP, and the SAT and ACT, in English or Portuguese. It also prepares students for the Portuguese national exams.

Kumon is a worksheet-based maths and English programme run through local centres, from about age 3 to adults. It isn’t tied to a school curriculum or exam. The Parede page lists maths; Oeiras lists maths and English.

Learning support and assessments in English

Psychoeducational assessment, therapy and support in English for children and teenagers, for families living in or moving to Portugal. It covers suspected developmental or learning difficulties, behavioural, emotional and social issues, and study skills. It also helps with access arrangements for international exam boards, careers guidance and university applications, and supports parents and schools.

If your child goes to school in Portugal, talk to the school first. Schools in the Portuguese system have their own support for pupils with learning needs, and international schools usually have a learning-support team.
