Colégio Marista de Carcavelos is a large Catholic colégio in Parede, run by the Marist Brothers (Irmãos Maristas) since it opened in October 1965. The school says it has about 1,700 pupils, from age 3 to 12.º ano.
Pré-escolar starts at age 3, with seven rooms and a 9h to 16h day. Physical education, music and English are taught by specialist teachers from this stage. From 1.º ciclo to secundário the school follows the Portuguese national curriculum, adding its own workshops (Oficinas Educativas) in 2.º ciclo and drama in 3.º ciclo. At secundário it offers all the cursos científico-humanísticos, the academic tracks that lead to university entrance.
Outside lessons there is a sports club, a psychology office and a small teaching farm (quinta pedagógica).

Good to know for international families
Teaching is in Portuguese. English is taught as a subject, and the homepage mentions Cambridge certification for 2026-2027. The website does not describe extra Portuguese support for children who are new to the language, so ask the school what it offers. Fees are not published online.
