These terms apply when you buy Find the Right School for Each Child from Portugal School Guide. Please read them before you buy. If anything is unclear, email us first at hello@portugalschoolguide.com.
1. Who we are
Portugal School Guide is run by VERSUSTANDARD LDA, Praceta Jorge de Sena 73, 2765-489 Estoril, Portugal, NIF 516436902. Email: hello@portugalschoolguide.com.
The checkout is run by Stripe. Stripe sells the guide to you as our reseller (the "merchant of record"), takes the payment, charges the VAT and sends you the receipt. Stripe's own terms apply to the payment. We create the guide, send you the files and help you with them.
2. What you get
One package of three digital files:
- the guide Find the Right School for Each Child (PDF, 12 chapters),
- the family workbook and calculator (Excel file with 8 tabs, which also opens in Google Sheets),
- the printable checklists (PDF).
The files hold no school fees or dates. Those live on our website, which the guide links to. The offer page describes the files in more detail. You need a device that opens PDF and Excel files.
3. Price and VAT
The price is €39 + VAT. With Portuguese VAT at 23% that is €47.97. Stripe works out the VAT at checkout for the country you buy from, so if you buy from another country the VAT, and so the total, can differ. Checkout shows the full total before you pay.
4. Paying
You pay at checkout with one of the payment methods Stripe offers. Your order is complete when the payment is confirmed. Stripe emails you a receipt.
5. Delivery
Right after your payment is confirmed, we send one email to the address you gave at checkout. It has the two PDFs attached and a personal link to download the Excel workbook. The link works for 7 days, for up to 5 downloads. Please save the files on your device.
The email usually arrives within a few minutes. If it hasn't arrived after an hour, please check your spam folder, then email hello@portugalschoolguide.com with your receipt and we'll send the files again.
6. Your right to cancel
If you live in the EU, you normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. For digital content that is delivered straight away, this right ends once delivery starts, but only if you agree to that before you buy.
So before you buy, we ask you to confirm: "I want access to my files immediately. I understand that once delivery starts, I lose my 14-day right to cancel."
This is digital content delivered immediately. With your consent, the right to cancel no longer applies once the files are sent. This does not affect your rights if the files are faulty. Our delivery email confirms your consent and the time delivery started.
If you don't give this consent (you choose "I do not agree" at checkout), we don't send the files, and we will contact you to refund your payment.
7. If a file is faulty
If a file is missing, won't open, is damaged, or isn't what we describe, email hello@portugalschoolguide.com. We'll fix it or send you a working file. If we can't put it right within a reasonable time, we'll give you a full refund. These are your rights under consumer law, and nothing in these terms takes them away.
8. How you may use the files
When you buy, you get a personal licence to use the files for your own family's school search. You may save them on your devices, print them, and fill in the workbook as often as you like.
Please don't share, copy for others, resell, upload or publish the files, or pass on your download link. The text, design and workbook remain ours. If a friend would find the guide useful, please send them to the offer page.
9. What the guide is, and isn't
The guide is general information to help you plan. It is not legal, tax, immigration or financial advice. Nobody can promise your child a school place, and we don't. The school always has the final word, so confirm any figure or date with the school in writing.
We help you choose the right school for each child. Our facts come from each school's own official sources, and we check them ourselves.
10. Updates
We may improve the files from time to time. Buying gets you the edition sold on the day you buy. We may send you a newer edition if we fix a mistake, but we don't promise future editions.
11. Our responsibility
We take care to make the guide accurate and useful. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on it, or for losses we couldn't reasonably foresee, as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law doesn't allow it, for example for faulty digital content.
12. Questions and complaints
Email hello@portugalschoolguide.com. We usually reply within two working days.
If you live in Portugal, you can also use the official online complaints book, the Livro de Reclamações. If we can't settle a dispute together, you can go to the consumer dispute resolution body for our area, the Centro de Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo de Lisboa. Other bodies are listed on the Portal do Consumidor.
13. Law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you also keep the protection of the consumer laws of that country.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version on this page on the day you buy applies to your purchase.
