Externato Nossa Senhora do Rosário is a Catholic school in the Bairro do Rosário, Cascais, run by the Salesian Sisters (Filhas de Maria Auxiliadora). Since 2022-2023 it has taught only the older years: 2.º ciclo, 3.º ciclo and secundário. The secondary school opened in 2022, in space that had been used for pré-escolar until 2020-2021.
Teaching follows the Portuguese national curriculum, with 150 minutes of English a week in 2.º and 3.º ciclo and French as a second foreign language. At secondary level the school offers a Dual Diploma programme, in which pupils can earn an American High School Diploma alongside the Portuguese one.
Good to know for international families
Teaching is in Portuguese. The Dual Diploma adds English-language study at secondary level, but it is not an English-medium programme for the whole timetable. The website does not describe support for children who are new to Portuguese, so ask the school. Monthly fees for 2026-2027 are published (see below).
