Salesianos do Estoril is a large Catholic colégio on the Avenida Marginal in Estoril, run by the Salesian congregation. Its first classes were held in January 1933, and today the school says it has about 1,950 pupils, from pré-escolar to 12.º ano.
Pré-escolar takes children aged 3 to 5 in six rooms, from 8h30 to 16h00. From 1.º ciclo onwards the school follows the Portuguese national curriculum. English starts in 1.º ciclo, pupils are grouped by English level in 2.º ciclo, and French or Spanish is added in 3.º ciclo. A catch-up workshop (Oficina dos Saberes) supports Portuguese, English and maths. At secundário the school offers the academic cursos científico-humanísticos.
The campus has its own canteen building, a theatre hall and a sports hall. After school, the ArtiSport programme runs clubs from basketball and roller hockey to judo, gymnastics, chess and triathlon, alongside the Musicentro music school and the Academia do Palco stage school.
Open day and applications
Applications (candidaturas) for 2027/2028 are open. The school’s activities calendar lists an Open Day on Saturday 16 January 2027.
Good to know for international families
Teaching is in Portuguese. The Oficina dos Saberes offers extra help in Portuguese, English and maths, but the website does not describe a programme for children who are new to Portuguese, so ask the school. Fees for 2026-27 are published (see below).
