Living in Cascais means the sea, the sports clubs and the parks are on your doorstep. This guide is for families who live here and want something regular for their children after school or at weekends.
Every organisation below has its own official website, which we checked on 24 October 2026. We only give prices where the club publishes them for the current year.
Start with your child’s school
Some private and international schools run after-school activities on site, which saves a second school run.
For example, Oeiras International School publishes a 2026/27 after-school programme with music lessons, mini tennis, a swimming academy, surfing and gymnastics, among others. St Julian’s School runs after-school activities too. See our OIS profile for more on the school.
Ask your school for its current list. Our school profiles link to each school’s official site. If you are still choosing a school, add activities to your budget: our first-year cost guide shows what else to plan for besides fees.

Museums and culture
The Fundação D. Luís I runs the Bairro dos Museus in Cascais. It has family activities from Tuesday to Saturday, plus special weekend activities. Check the programme on the site before you go.
Help with schoolwork
Some children need extra support more than another club. For tutoring and Portuguese lessons, see our tutoring and learning support guide.
Choosing what fits
Start with one activity your child is excited about, close to home or school. Ask whether you can try a class first, and see how the week feels before you add more. The right club is the one your child wants to go back to.
