Other Colégios in Cascais: Smaller Portuguese Schools

Seven smaller Portuguese colégios and early-years schools in Cascais, with ages, area and official website. Taught in Portuguese. Checked October 2026.

Cascais has many small Portuguese schools besides the large colégios we profile in full. These seven are mostly early-years schools, from creche (nursery for under-3s) to the end of 1.º ciclo (primary). We list what we could check on official sources: the school’s own website, the Cascais council school lists and the Segurança Social Carta Social directory. All of them teach in Portuguese.

We have not visited these schools, and we don’t rank them. Fees are not listed here, so please ask each school.

The seven schools

CEIDe – O Nosso Sonho (Tires, São Domingos de Rana). A cooperative that began in Tires 39 years ago and now runs several creches and schools in the area. Creche, pré-escolar and 1.º ciclo. Website: onossosonho.pt.

Colégio O Cachabiu (Cascais). Listed in the Cascais council’s open data at Rua Joaquim Ereira 192, Cascais, and on a council contact page. Its website did not respond when we checked on 22 October 2026, so we could not confirm its ages or whether it is still open. Contact page: cascais.pt.

Escola Criar (Cascais). A small independent school on Rua da Torre, Cascais. Its website says it takes children aged 2 to 12, in pré-escolar, 1.º ciclo and 2.º ciclo. Website: escolacriar.pt.

Escolinha da Ana (Cobre, Cascais). A baby room (berçário) and creche for children from 0 to 36 months, at Rua Carlos Reis 87, Cascais. Website: escolinhadaana.pt.

Externato A Nova Toca (São Domingos de Rana). Two sites: creche and pré-escolar in Madorna, and 1.º and 2.º ciclo in Rana. Website: anovatoca.pt.

Externato Miguel Ângelo (Carcavelos). Creche, jardim de infância (pré-escolar) and 1.º ciclo in Carcavelos. Website: externatomiguelangelo.com.

Éramos Um (Murtal, Parede). A teaching cooperative in Murtal. The council lists creche, pré-escolar and 1.º ciclo; the Carta Social directory lists pré-escolar. Website: eramosum.pt.

Good to know for international families

All seven teach in Portuguese. For very young children that is often a gentle way into the language, but none of these websites describes a programme for children who are new to Portuguese, so ask when you visit. If you are weighing a Portuguese school against an international one, read our guide Portuguese colégio or international school?.

For larger Portuguese colégios with published fees, programmes and services, see the full profiles, such as Colégio Marista de Carcavelos, Salesianos do Estoril and Colégio do Amor de Deus, or filter the school directory by Portuguese colégios.

Frequently asked questions

Why don't these colégios have a full profile?

They are small, mostly early-years schools, and their websites publish less information. We list the basics we could check on official sources and link to each school, so you can ask them directly.

Do these schools teach in English?

No. They are Portuguese schools and teach in Portuguese. Some offer English as a subject or activity. Ask each school what support it gives children who are still learning Portuguese.

Are creche places free?

Many creches in Portugal take part in the national Creche Feliz scheme, which makes creche free for children born from 1 September 2021 at participating creches. Ask each school whether your child's place is covered.
